Welcome Back!

We hope you had a fantastic summer! It’s hard to believe how quickly the season has passed—it feels like just yesterday we were wrapping up for the year, and now we’re already gearing up for our first meetings with our Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts.

We trust you and your family had the chance to enjoy the great outdoors. This summer, campsites were bustling, and popular forests and walking trails were more vibrant than ever.

A special welcome to our new members! We’re excited to have you and section leaders will be in touch soon. We’ll have a welcome evening in September where you can come along and meet all the leaders and see the den. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to accommodate everyone on our waiting list this time round.

New Scouters!

In Scouting, our leaders are known as ‘Scouters,’ emphasizing that Scouting is a ‘Youth Led’ movement—where young people take the lead, and adults provide guidance and support.

We’re thrilled to welcome Rachel, Lucy, Kamila, Dónal, Oran, and Yolanda as new Scouters this year! They’ll soon be completing their ‘Story of Scouting’ and ‘Being a Scouter’ training modules before joining us in our regular meetings and activities.

Waiting List

Due to the high demand for spots, our waiting list currently exceeds the number of available places. We must adhere to strict adult-to-child ratios, which limits the number of children we can accept.

All spots for September have been filled, but as our new Scouters settle in and, hopefully, more adults join us, we may be able to welcome more children in January.

Volunteering as a Scouter is the surest way to secure a place for your child. If you’re interested in this fun and rewarding role, please reach out. We’d be happy to meet you in the den one evening to discuss how you can get involved.

JOTA / JOTI

We’re excited to announce that tentative plans are underway for this year’s Jamboree on the Air (JOTA), taking place over the weekend of October 18-21. Since its inception in 1957, JOTA has allowed Scouts who couldn’t attend large international jamborees in person to connect with others worldwide through amateur radio.

We’re planning to participate, though we’re still deciding whether this will be a camp or a den-based activity.

If you happen to hold an Amateur Radio License or are familiar with amateur radio procedures, we’d love to hear from you! Your expertise would be invaluable in making this event a success.

Group Badges

We’re thrilled to introduce our new group badge! These will be presented to all youth members during the upcoming investiture ceremonies.

The badge is a refreshed design, updating the classic CBSI badge, which was last produced around 20 years ago. We’re excited to see our members wear it with pride!
